So long as there was a proper install (not something crippled by size 
concerns, as others have noted) it would be nice to see it there by 
default, on par with perl/ruby/etc -- there for those who want it, 
avaialble for those new to it to explore, able to be updated by the 
power users. No GUI.

What I *do* think would be tremendously valuable is for Apple to 
consider -- possibly with the developer's tools -- supporting some kind 
of package manager a la fink commander or darwinports.  (Including 
support for TeX a la iinstaller or miktex would be a bonus.)

On another subject, I also suggest bugging them to fix Grapher!  (The 
first thing they did when they purchased Curvus Pro was to break it. 
Grapher won't even run all of its own examples, for heaven's sake!)

I use Graphing Calculator and love it, but there is tremendous value in 
having a tool of that power built in to the OS.
