yes, this would be probably good, but there is still a problem:
pstopdf does not accept that option. So it would be the same as
defining the distillerprog string to

   ps2pdf13 -dAutoRotatePages=/None

from the point of view of breaking compatibility with other
distillers. So we should be able to pass some distiller options
to some distillers and not to others.

Since from the command like we can always choose freely which
commands we want, there is the need of a different approach only
for TeXShop. Here's my proposal

In the TeXShop Preferences "Misc" panel, there's the choice of
distillers. We could have a text input field THERE, close to
each radio button in the "Distiller" area.

So _that_ area of the misc panel would become

Distiller and specific options
+-----------------------------------------------+
O Ghostscript [____________________]
O Apple Distiller [____________________]
O PStill [Path] [____________________]
O Acrobat [Path] [____________________]
+-----------------------------------------------+

Or, maybe even better

Distiller and specific options
+-----------------------------------------------+
O Ghostscript [____________________]
[] Do not Automatically Rotate Pages
O Apple Distiller [____________________]
O Other [Path] [____________________]
+-----------------------------------------------+

Where [________] denotes a text input field and the [Path]
button(s) allow you to set the paths to the command line tools.
In the second
Everything is optional here, but Richard Koch could tell us
whether this is feasible without much hassle. One could append
the command line options to the distillerprog string.
There would be enough room also in the panel. The "pTeX support"
area can be moved under "Sync Method" and to the right of
"BibTeX", and thus there should be enough area to the right and
below the "Distiller" group to encrease its size. Today is a
but crazy on my side, but I might try to do concoct some
non-ascii graphics later.
