Pete,

An off-topic observation. Your quote -- I believe -- originates with  
Paul Erdos. But the quote is:

A mathematician is a machine that turns coffee into theorems and  
conjectures.

This is, of course, a very important change.

Secondly, "coffee" refers to espresso coffee.
