Correction (lost / in qlmanage in the previous posting) and update:
after once again opening Info.plist and saving it (no changes), moving
TeXShop to the desktop and back, and opening TeXShop, all files with
extensions tex, cls, sty, and aux are previewed by QuickLook. The
output of mdls, however, gives:
>mdls /Additions/Mytex/agu/for_manuscript_preparation/agu2001.cls
kMDItemContentModificationDate = 2006-07-31 00:00:00 +0300
kMDItemContentType = "dyn.ah62d4rv4ge80g5dx"
kMDItemContentTypeTree = (
"public.data",
"public.item"
)
...
that is, dynamic ContentType and no plain-text. Nevertheless,
>qlmanage -p /Additions/Mytex/agu/for_manuscript_preparation/
agu2001.cls
...
2007-12-02 23:09:06.998 qlmanage[524:5f03] [QL] Previewing /Additions/

finished
So is the mdls output relevant at all ?
Two more questions:
1. If there are two or more applications defining the same UTI, should
I make changes in both Info.plist or one takes precedence ?
2. Do .qlgenerators override UTI definitions by applications ?
Regards,
Michael
