[OS X TeX] MacTeX disk image problems

I downloaded the MacTeX diskimage file from www.tug.org/mactex.

File opens correctly on a PPC Mac but will not open (Error: Broken pipe) on an Intel Mac.

Can I copy the MacTeX-2007.mpkg from the PPC-mounted MacTeX-2007 disk image to the Intel Mac and do the installation that way?
