[OS X TeX] Different versions of epstopdf in mactex re rest of the world?

"old" / standard

> \@namedef{Gin at rule@.eps}#1{{pdf}{.pdf}{`epstopdf.pl --debug #1}}

new, c compiled

> when using

> and a lot of temporary files.

... one needs to leave "--debug" out -- and does not get all those  
temporary files....

one problem solved!
