[OS X TeX] problems with installing xpdf

hi list,

I just tried to install xpdf (version 3.02, still on 10.3.9), following 
some earlier discussion on this list, but after running ./configure, 
terminal tells me:
WARNING: Couldn't find Motif
WARNING: -- You will be able to compile pdftops, pdftotext, pdfinfo, 
pdffonts, and pdfimages, but not xpdf or pdftoppm

I tried running configure with the path /usr/X11R6/... and with 
/usr/local/... (I can give the log-files if needed)

can anyone help me? I'm no expert, I don't know what this Motif-stuff 
is...
