[OS X TeX] Gotcha in inserting PDF images: How big is the PDF image?

I work differently.
I save the illustrations as eps. Then I drag and drop them to the
TexShop icon in my Dock, a pdf version appears, ready to use
(trimmed). I save it and I am done.
