[OS X TeX] pdfsync.sty 1.0 beta testing

It seems that the new pdfsync conflicts with eqnarray and eqnarray*  
environments: The following test file,

\documentclass[11pt,article]{memoir}
\usepackage{pdfsync}
\begin{eqnarray}
    a=b
\end{eqnarray}
\end{document}

produces the error

! Improper \halign inside $$'s.
\eqnarray ... \let \\\@eqncr $$\everycr {}\halign
                                                   to\displaywidth  
\bgroup \h...
l.4 \begin{eqnarray}

?
