[OS X TeX] Use $$...$$, even in LaTeX

Dear George Gratzer,

Why do tell people tu use \[ ...\]?The classical TeX $$...$$ have the  
same effect, and a much better visibilty in the source file. Same for  
\(...\) and $...$.

Believe me, I use to read many books in source form.
