[OS X TeX] Inclusion of TIFF files

Convert everything to .pdf which will allow both vector and bitmap  
content, but will optimize for file size. Leave the .eps and .tif  
files in place as ``source'' files. Other than using XeTeX it's your  
best option, and one which the publisher will like since they can use  
the .pdf files for quick previews / proofing.

Placing .tif is a mug's game 'cause the format has so many variations  
--- XeTeX can do it 'cause they rely on Apple to do the heavy lifting.
