Same here except that when I got to install on 10.3.9, OS X said Failed 
to compile/configure aspell6-en-6.0-0 dictionary. Oh well.

I am surprised MS Word didn't trash it. It made a good chunk of a book 
of mine "unreadable" not all of which was properly backed up so that I 
can't blame it all on MS Word. But all the "little" misfunctioning might 
have added to even more lost time.
