Yes, I think Cluaus did not entirely understand the proposal. Well, I
warned it was a complex proposal ;-)

Anyway, Claus, here is a question for you:

Suppose I use /usr/local/texprograms (or something equivalent), what
happens when I type "man pdftex"? How do I get the man page which
corresponds with the linked distribution? I'll present apossible answer
below.

Possible Answer:
/Library/TeX/Distributions/Default/Man is being added to manpath.conf.
This is automatically in sync with
/Library/TeX/Distributions/Default/Programs. As we only set one link
(/Library/TeX/Distributions/Default) consistency is guaranteed and another
source for trouble when supoprting people has been eliminated.
