Michael,
The opt suggests that you installed TeXLive using Darwin Ports or
something
similar.
See
www.tug.org/~koch
(and follow the link at the top) for a Mac install package of this
distribution.
The switcher products are using either that installation, or
supporting users
who install directly from TUG's TeXLive install script, which is very
easy
to follow.
