[OS X TeX] simpdftex doesn't generate DVI files

Thanks for your reply. I have obtained a solution from our sysadmins.
Apparently, if the TeX document defines \ifpdf incorrectly, it can
override the initial settings and cause latex to run as pdflatex. This
of course wreaks havoc with Gerben's script.
