[OS X TeX] TeX based on TeX Live release

Not claiming to be an expert, or even someone knowledgeable, let me
state that there are no imagemagick or ghostscript in texlive.
However, htlatex worked for flawlessly for me, and Apple's own
distiller could be used for ps->pdf, or even simpler, use i-Installer
to install all the goodies you want but are not provided by texlive.
texlive provides everything that is necessary for tex. Any missing
tools or programs can be installed independently, e.g., via i-Installer.
Complaining won't help, since the i-Installer offerings are frozen.
Try using the available tools, I would be surprised, if you would
need an upgrade.
