This seems to indicate kpsewhich (and apparently texdoc) look at the
right places, but can't find index.pdf there.
I'm at a loss. Maybe a permission problem. Maybe the following would
change something:
- Fix permissions on your hard drive, using Disk Utility (booting
either from your hard drive, or from your Mac OS X CD or DVD).
- In i-Installer, re-run the Configure stage of the TeX i-Package, in
Expert mode and select only the action of Setting Ownership &
Permission (I don't remember the exact wording for this).
But maybe that won't help. What I'm thinking of is directories that
don't have the executable bit, or files that don't have the readable
bit. But it may as well be something completely different.
Here's what I get here:
theo8mc233:~ bvoisin$ ls -l /usr/local/TeXLive/texmf.texlive/doc/
latex/index/index.pdf
-rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 218990 Jan 9 2006 /usr/local/TeXLive/
texmf.texlive/doc/latex/index/index.pdf
