Panther is a different topic ... it all happened on intel Tigers.
I wanted to become hero and installed QuickTime 7.1 and the security
update on Tiger PPC. In my console I can see some (rather a lot) new
messages. The main change I encounter is that Dock crashes again when
I launch an application from a folder in Dock with the application's
*alias* in it (not a sym-link).
i-Installer 2.77 found three updates (TeX, ConTeXt updater, and LCDF
Typetools) and installed them. There were a few messages from the
subprocess output (from deleting directories that are not empty). The
real bug is that it enables the cjhebrew MAP file; it tells so, but
there does not seem to be an evidence.
So I think you should install the update on Panther!
