You do not need to know perl; you just need to be able to place the commands
somewhere in you PATH (if you don't know what that is, you can probably just
copy them into /usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin-current/ or
something similar for an intel Mac) and then type in the terminal the
following:

latexdiff-fast oldfile.tex newfile.tex > diff.tex
pdflatex diff.tex
open diff.pdf

Of course, feel free to change the file names to whatever the actual names of
your tex files are. (You can choose whatever you want for diff.tex, but you
probably want to choose a file name that doesn't already exist.)
