[OS X TeX] Should I install X11 ?

This may *seem* to be OT, but I think it is not. The question is: Is
it advisable to install X11 on a newly bought MacBookPro just
received ? (I assume it is not installed by default, searching for
X11 Spotlight did return just songs).
The reason of my asking it here is because the only interest I would
have in X11 would be regarding the TeX installation. At some places
in the documentation and the discussions X11 enters the picture, but
I don't know whether a *normal* user of (La)TeX+TeXShop would need
it, or at least benefit from it, or ... ? It seemed to me that having
it or not makes some difference at the time of installing some of the
i-packages, but I could not understand whether this meant it was
recommendable or not.
Thanks in advance,
JMaF
