Just wanted to confirm that the problem with Lucida fonts not being  
seen by TeX and friends has been solved off-list, and turned out to  
be, as anticipated, an updmap vs. updmap-sys issue. This seems to  
call for a less empirical and more permanent solution to the problem,  
maybe in the form evoked by Gerben in an earlier message.
