I tried, but got the message:
Files required for this package to work are missing.
There are no packages that I know of that contain the
missing files. Sorry.
I had forgotten this happened. Apparently, the extra stuff I extracted from
the Mac OS X disk did not include enough of X11 after all. I'll have to have a look
again at home this evening.
I find:
[dhcp17:~/papers/kobg] rrb% cd /usr/X11R6/lib
[dhcp17:/usr/X11R6/lib] rrb% ls
libAppleWM.a libXaw.a libXpm.a libexpat.a
libFS.a libXcursor.a libXrandr.a libfntstubs.a
libGL.a libXdmcp.a libXrender.a libfontconfig.a
libGLU.a libXext.a libXss.a libfontenc.a
libGLw.a libXfont.a libXt.a libfreetype.a
libICE.a libXfontcache.a libXtst.a liboldX.a
libOSMesa.a libXft.a libXv.a libpsres.a
libSM.a libXi.a libXvMC.a libxkbfile.a
libX11.a libXinerama.a libXxf86misc.a libxkbui.a
libXRes.a libXmu.a libXxf86vm.a
libXTrap.a libXmuu.a libdps.a
libXau.a libXp.a libdpstk.a
but the i-Installer error messages asks for libX11.dylib from this directory.
I no longer feel Unix savvy enough to accept the challenge ot 'Install anyway'.
