As a long-time user of textures, (Mac Plus/Quadra/Centris/imac), I am
also sentimental about Blue Sky. However, I cannot possibly see what
a commercial program with a price tag in the couple $100 range can
offer today. Within days after installing my first OS X, I had a
complete TeX installation for free, thanks to Gerben, Dick, and this
list. Bugs are fixed quickly, features are added almost on demand,
and all this at the cost of voluntary donations. The only feature I
still miss from textures is it's incredible synchronization but
still, texhop with pdfsync works pretty ok, so this feature by itself
does not tip the scale for me. What is really sad and depressing is
that Blue Sky does not seem to recognize the changing reality but
seems to live in some point in the past...
