I don't have the app, so I can't comment on the behavior, but there  
are a few things you can do to see what is going on:

  - check the log files (the utility Console Log will let you see  
them); the system and console logs are the important ones, and they  
will probably have messages
relating to the crash when it happens;

  - check crash logs (in /Library/Logs and ~/Library/Logs); there  
will usually be a crash log created when an app crashes.  You can  
send these to Apple and to Adobe (the latter, in my experience, isn't  
particularly interested)
