[OS X TeX] French letters do not print

Winfried,

You only need to add to the preamble :

\usepackage[T1]{fontenc}
and 	\usepackage[latin1]{inputenc}
or		 \usepackage[utf-8]{inputenc}
or 		\usepackage[applemac]{inputenc}
depends on the encoding you use and type the diacritic symbols of  
French : é è ç à ù ê …etc normally.
