[OS X TeX] color palettes

I am having trouble using color palettes that I have found on the  
web. For example,
I have a tex file with the statements


\usepackage[named]{color}
{\color{OliveGreen} Olive Green}

and I cannot process the file. I get the error message:


The option `named' was not declared in package 'color'.
I am using a version of TeXShop that I loaded from sourceforge.
Should I start generating my own palette, or can I access this palette
