You may force the Finder to display normally hidden folders by typing  
in, in Terminal:

     defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

then logging off and in again. To go back to the default, use instead:

     defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles NO

I wouldn't advise it on a permanent basis, as I suspect this might  
break the working of either built-in parts of the OS, or of 3rd-party  
add-ons.
