The Mac ones are Unicode encoded TTF or OTF, the originals are PS  
Type 1 in 8a encoding. They should come with a PostScript printer.

You would need these originals only for micro-typography with  
automatic font compression/expansion. PDF by default does not embed  
Times, Helvetica, Courier, Symbol, and ZapfDingbats. And this Adobe  
stuff seems to use what the system offers, doesn't it?
