Which updmap.cfg do you mean? The one in /usr/local/teTeX/share/
texmf.local/web2c or the one in /usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf.tetex/
web2c?

Error no. 1: after a change in the system wide or teTeX tree(s) you
need to run 'sudo -H texhash.'
Error no. 2: for system wide use you need to invoke 'sudo -H updmap-
sys.'

How did you copy? What was the actual command? A font is not only
some AFM or PFB files, TeX needs TFM and VF files, if they exist, and
LaTeX looks for FD files too. And there are these MAP files!

It's not the right way to edit updmap.cfg files. The proper way is to
prevent mistakes during editing by invoking 'sudo -H updmap-sys --
enable Map=mapfile.' Updmap and updmap-sys also understand the
arguments --syncwithtrees, --listmaps, or --help ...

There's no sense in being precise when you don't
even know what you're talking about.
