[OS X TeX] hyperref and endnotes/bibliography

Hello all,

Apologies if this question has been asked before. I use the standard
installation (2005/12/01 beta release) of LaTeX with TeXShop. Now, I
have a problem with hyperref. In my preamble I have the lines

\newpage \addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{\numberline{}Notes}

before the endnotes commands and

\newpage \addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{\numberline{}Bibliography}

before the bibliography command. In the drawer of the pdf output there
is a list of all chapters including all sections etc. The list ends with
Notes and Bibliography. However, I noted that clicking on Notes brings
me to the page before the Notes and clicking on Bibliography brings me
to the first page of the Notes. I then put the two addcontents lines
after the endnotes and bibliography commands. To my own surprise, both
links work fine now. But the backdraw is that the page numbers in my
table of contents are no longer accurate. I haven't tried it explicitly,
but I guess the problem has to do with hyperref and would still occur if
I left the endnotes out.

Having a link for the endnotes in the drawer is quite convenient, and
I'm not sure whether the endnotes and/or the bibliography should appear
in the table of contents at all. Thus a solution where I have a link in
the drawer but not in the toc would also be alright.

Any ideas?

Wolfgang
