Yes: added that MAP when you had the chance!

"Keep as is" means that nothing gets removed, deleted from your private
texmf tree. A good choice when you never before created your own
formats or language.dat.

Gary, you need to remember that with TeX Live 2005 (which you are
obviously using) different utilities are used to create configuration
files (for Babel, format creation, MAP files ...), those with -sys and
those with the old proper name. During installation i-Installer could
not find and use your *private* iffonts.map -- because it uses
updmap-sys. So the fonts became system-wide unknown and you had no
private MAP. Now that you've run 'sudo updmap --enable Map iffonts.map'
you're in some trouble -- although you're the only user on your Mac who
can use the Informal Math fonts, because of your private 'copy' of
pdftex.map in ~/Library/texmf/fonts/map/pdftex. This file and the
directory tree now belong to root, not you! Here's the reason why you
should choose 'Remove' when you get asked again for a system-wide or
individual configuration.

As I mentioned on Tuesday, together with Sun Ra, a way to make your
private collection system-wide available, run 'sudo updmap-sys ...'
etc. This makes the sys-utilities run in system administrator mood, but
they too make use of your own collection!

The clean and pure invocation could or should be 'sudo -H <utility>-sys
...' ...

Without vi there is only GNU Emacs
