Howdy,

I've been asked to pass on the following information and a request
for folks willing to test the distribution. This MacTeX distribution
will be on the TeX Live 2005 DVD.

------

Subject: MacTeX distribution testing

Thanks to Jonathan Kew, Dick Koch, Gerben Wierda, Herb Schulz, and many
others, an enhanced TeX distribution for MacOSX is available for
testing. If you're interested, please see http://tug.org/mactex.

The "MacTeX" package is based on Gerben's gwTeX, and also installs
XeTeX, TeXShop, and more. The distribution as a whole also includes a
number of other applications and documents for your perusing and
installation pleasure.

We plan to include this on this year's TeX Collection release, along
with TeX Live and proTeXt. (I have no ETA except "as soon as
possible".)

So, testing in advance of burning several thousand copies is especially
welcome. The download is about 350 megabytes.

Thanks,
Karl (for the MacTeX working group)

------

Good Luck,

Herb Schulz
