Shame on me, Jeffrey, I did and had not noticed. I saw the
description of it in the documentation and knew I did not want to use
it, but did not check if it was already there.
If I understand well, chronological order in multiple in-text
citations is the default behavior of either LaTeX or natbib (?), and
you get the (only) alternative behavior (same order as in
bibliography) by adding the "sort" option?
