Not as far as I know---at least with my LaTeX mdimporter.

I think that I'll fix this this weekend and put the relevant code in  
the importer itself.

Of course, I'll have to make up some odd UTI:

org.latexismyfriend.tex

Now,

org.tug.tex

seems the perfect solution, but as expressed before, I'll need  
permission.

I wonder who I'd ask?
