[OS X TeX] problem with pst-pdf

I think he's referring to the examples I gave that (try to) use  
pst-3dplot. The version that uses pdftricks gets the full axis with  
the x, y and z coordinates correct (maybe with some cropping of the  
letters because of the bounding box problem). The version that uses  
pst-pdf only gets the central part of the axis and doesn't show the  
axis names and arrows. finally if I comment out the pst-pdf package  
and just run it through latex+ghostscript I get the full plot but its  
size is set to partial plot so it overlaps the text above and below  
the plot. Is there a newer version of pstricks and associated
