[OS X TeX] Functionality for collaborative work

Acrobat 7.0 Professional allows one to create pdf that can be marked up
using Adobe Reader 7. Does anyone know if this functionality is part of
the (open) pdf standard which could (in principle at least) be included
in (pdf[la])tex? Of course, you would still have to bring the changes
back into your latex file. It would also be nice to have something
besides Adobe Reader that could do the marking up....
