There are tricks to print the depth when compiling the code. Al that
is needed then is parsing a separate file, or the log file. (You
actually have some of the LaTeX based trickery in a document that I
send you earlier. So no: you cannot extract it from the pdf, but you
can obtain that info from a TeX run.

snippet.zip Compilation instructions are in the package. Further
suggestions are welcome.
