[OS X TeX] breaking word/word/word

What about using old-fashioned commas and conjunctions instead of slash
signs? That might be what Latex is hinting you to do!
Otherwise, when Latex will refuse to hyphen a word, you can force it by
inserting it manually where you see fit. There must be a more elegant
way, but it works for me.
