[OS X TeX] Auctex attempt with DarwinPorts Emacs

David,

the dp CarbonEmacs stores a lot of "things" in 
/opt/local/share/emacs/21.3.50/. I think that's a different philosophy 
than just pack everything in one .app. Anyway, if you open Emacs.app and 
remove the site-lisp directory you created and redo configure with the 
right lisp-dir (--with-lispdir=/opt/local/share/emacs/21.3.50/site-lisp) 
everything should work. At least it works for me.

BTW: You should definitly join the MacOSX-Emacs list for such topics.
There are a lot of clever people around who help me out several times :-)

If you have any probs configuring your new Emacs feel free to ask at any 
time.
