[OS X TeX] I do like ps4pdf

Oh, yes.

And you have to wrap the pstricks code in PSforPDF{}. This should work, it
does for me.

\documentclass{article}
\usepackage{pst-plot}
\usepackage{pst-text}
\usepackage{ps4pdf} %<--- call ps2pdf
\begin{document}
\PSforPDF{ %<--- all postscript is wrapped in PSforPDF
\psset{unit=1cm}
\begin{pspicture}(-0.25,-2.25)(6.25,2.25)
\pstextpath[linestyle=none]%
{\psplot[linewidth=1pt,%
linestyle=dotted,%
plotpoints=300,%
xunit=0.015,%
yunit=2]{0}{400}{x sin}}
{\LARGE TUGboat, the journal
of the \TeX{} Users Group}
\end{pspicture}%
}
\end{document}

Good luck,
Vince
