No idea why it would do that.  Did you use <http:// 
lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bibdesk-users> and follow the  
instructions in the verification message precisely?  If so, you may  
need to file a support request with sourceforge at <http:// 
sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=add&group_id=1&atid=200001>.

Feel free to copy me the server's response off-list, and I'll see if  
there's anything I can do.
