Can you look at the dates of the binaries (real files, not symlinks) in 
/usr/local/teTeX/bin/powerpc-apple-darwin*? Or into 
/usr/local/teTeX/share/texmf/doc/tetex? The dates of TETEXDOC.* and 
teTeX-FAQ are self-explanatory.

Too the versions of TeX ('pdftex --version' in Terminal) can give 
pointers. If no-one answers you can look for these either in the 
archives of this list or in the reports you saved.

"pdfeTeX 3.141592-1.30.x" is TL2005.
