[OS X TeX] a question concerning the file system

Morning.

On my system are two virtual users:
   - I myself for private use
   - I myself for business use

Both users use TeX. All packages not included in gwTeX (i-Installer)  
I've installed in ~/Library/texmf/.. So I've installed a lot of  
packages twice: Once for private use and once for business use.

Is there some reason to install these additional packages *not*  
into ./usr/local/tetex/share/texmf/.. and delete the installation of  
these packages in the home directories of the users?
