[OS X TeX] status of Spotlight indexing of .tex files?

Does it filter information from the complete contents? or does it  
just take the first 2kB or so?

I think a previous message by Karl Berry gave a list (.ltx, .ctx). I  
wouldn't include .cls and .sty, as they are not user documents (at  
least not in general).
