[OS X TeX] Documents less legible with T1 font encoding

Yes, you are right. However, I still like the CM output best. With 
Latin Modern you'll see that the bottom left part of the accent in "í" 
is to the left of the "column" (I like it more on top of it), and in 
"ú" it is on top of the left "column" (and I like it more in the 
middle, between the two "columns"). Also compare the output of the 
CM-super: the accents are better located (to me) but they are smaller 
and therefore harder to read, especially when printed. Also notice that 
the hyphenation, although correct with T1, may give different results 
with CM-super and Latin Modern (guess this is because of their design).

I don't see any differences with the outputs in either font (CM, 
CM-super or LM) for the dieresis/umlaut as in "ü".

On the other hand, some tools (like htlatex) are more gracious with T1, 
but others may like traditional OT1 better.
