[OS X TeX] Babel no, mess yes

Hi all---

It looks like I've messed up things more than I thought when moving
computers. Now Texshop keeps complaining:

Package babel Warning: No hyphenation patterns were loaded for
(babel) the language `Dutch'
(babel) I will use the patterns loaded for \language=0
instead.

What do I do? I've tried to do what the FAQ says and removed %! from
dutch nehyph.tex (which, as far as I can see, is the proper name) in
language.dat (of which, as far as I can see, have more than one).

I do'nt know anything about unix, but I did do a texhash and a fmtutil
--all, but it does not seem to work.

Isn't it time for a clean reinstall? How do I do throw it all away?

Help!
