According to the setup of the German keyboard that should be:

Comment:   Cmd-] becomes Cmd-Alt-6
Uncomment: Cmd-} becomes Cmd-Alt-9
Indent:    Cmd-[ becomes Cmd-Alt-5
Unindent:  Cmd-{ becomes Cmd-Alt-8

In French the corresponding keys are:

Comment:   Cmd-] becomes Cmd-Alt-Shift-)
Uncomment: Cmd-} becomes Cmd-Alt-)
Indent:    Cmd-[ becomes Cmd-Alt-Shift-(
Unindent:  Cmd-{ becomes Cmd-Alt-{

and these do work.

Not really worse than \, which translates to Cmd-Alt-Shift-: on the 
French keyboard. It looks like, in Europe, having taken up piano or 
synth classes before turning to TeX may prove helpful!
