I doubt it, as this would replace a single byte with two or more bytes
in the input-stream. But then, I'm not sure why Donald Arsenau used Mac
Roman encoded macro names in the first place. There is a comment that
he intends to hook into inputenc, and you might ask him (on c.t.t.)
when and if this might happen (and explain shortly what the current
problem is).
