[OS X TeX] distiller barfs on the output of dvips

Hello Lawrence!

Have you tried to double-click the PS files? For me, in Panther, Mac Os
X 10.3.x, a little window pops up telling me that PS is being converted
to PDF. Then Preview opens and shows the contents. Preview allows to
save the PDF file. It also can export the contents in other graphic
formats (the same that are supported by SIPS, an Apple framework for
all sorts of graphics manipulations or queries, and a CLI,
/usr/bin/sips, too).

Make sure the dvips output files contain all font files! Therefore it's
useful to have at least two printers for dvips: the one that really
prints on paper, and the other without built-in font cartridges that
dvips includes all font programme files into its output.
