I didn't understand you wanted alphabetic numeration. This works in 
book.cls:

\backmatter
\appendix
\setcounter{chapter}{1}
\renewcommand{\thechapter}{Appendix\space\Alph{chapter}}
\chapter{Option Games}

But I don't know if the table of contents will come right.
